Boardgame Geek guideline - how to choose your game

As most of you know, BGG is one of the most popular website for boardgames.

However, the template of the website is kind of outdated - It is not easy to use the website for a first-timer.

How do you look for games?

First, you can always use search engine. However, I doubt that you know what you are after...

Click "browse" -> "database" -> "games" and you can see the full list of games available, by order of ranks.

List of boardgames

Click "browse" -> "database -> "mechanics"/"category" etc, and you can search for games based on your preference.

However, as there are lots of terms (and lots of games!), it can be very hard to find a game that you want. You can take a look at the "Recommendation" forum, try to ask questions based on your preference or just look at the threads here. You can learn a lot of new games here.

Recommendation

Finally, I am known as "ninjap" in BGG, you can take a look at my profile. The most important information from my profile is the list of gams that I own!

Store that I visit to purchase boardgames

Here you can find a few websites which I usually place my order.
The reason I post this up is that you can check the availability of a game. A lot of the games that you want can be temporarily out of stock or even no longer available.
